Frequently Asked Questions

MOST OFTEN ASKED BY NEW CLIENTS

Prior and Associates specializes in finding and recovering lost assets

for individuals, trusts, estates and business entities nationwide.

Here are a few of the questions we are most often asked by our new clients.

WHY HAVE YOU CONTACTED ME?

We found a lost or forgotten account that you have ownership rights to or beneficial interest in. In other words, you have lost assets that need to be recovered.

HOW DID YOU GET MY PHONE NUMBER, AND MAILING ADDRESS?

We thoroughly exhaust public databases. We have seasoned investigators on our staff who are skilled at obtaining contact information for individuals who have moved frequently or are difficult to reach. Because we receive a high volume of undeliverable mail, we make a concerted effort to contact the subject (the heir, owner, or person entitled to the fund) via telephone.

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU HAVE THE RIGHT PERSON? I NEVER LOST ANY MONEY.

We hear this a lot but are very thorough in our investigation as to who is entitled to the funds in question. So we have double-checked and triple-checked our facts, and always make certain of the entitlement before we reach out to someone.

WHERE IS YOUR OFFICE?

Our office is now in Hawaii. Our state of incorporation is Colorado.

WILL I HAVE TO PAY ANY MONEY UP FRONT?

No! Prior and Associates always advances all expenses in the recovery.

HOW CAN I TRUST THAT PRIOR AND ASSOCIATES IS A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS?

It may help to check us out with the BBB where we have an A+ rating (25 years with no serious complaints). We also provide a list of references of people we recovered money for that have agreed to let us use their contact information and also the value of their claim.

IF I SIGN YOUR AGREEMENT, HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE BEFORE I GET MY MONEY?

It depends on the complexity of the case, but from the time from claim to payment is usually weeks or in some cases months.

DO YOU NEED MY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO MOVE FORWARD?

No! We never ask that privacy-related documents pass through our hands however the hold of the funds may make this request of you to verify identity before sending the claims payment check.

WHAT IF LAWYERS OR LEGAL ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED?

We have lawyers on retainer in most states because so many of our cases require opening an estate administration. We always advance the fees, whatever they are, so there is no out of pocket expenses required of the claimant.
